said County and state before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the
said Caleb Hubbard and Jane Hubbard his wife have granted Bargained and sold Conveyed and transferred
and by these presents do grant bargain and Sell Convey and transfer unto the said Charles Shenton his heirs and
assigns forever One negro woman Eliza aged about thirty years a slave for life and now in the possession of the said
Charles Shenton  To Have and To Hold the above described negro woman Eliza unto the said Charles Shenton
his heirs and assigns forever and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever against us the said Caleb Hubbard
and Jane Hubbard his wife and our heirs and against all persons whatsoever Claiming or to Claim the said negro
woman Eliza we will warrant and forever defend ^by^ these presents.  In testimony whereof the said Caleb Hubbard
and Jane Hubbard his wife have hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their Seals this Fourth day of
January in the year one thousand Eight hundred and fifty four

          The State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit:      Be it remembered that on this fourth day of
January in the year one thousand Eight hundred and Fifty four before the subscribers two Justices of the peace of
Said State in and for Dorchester County Personally appears Caleb Hubbard and Jane Hubbard his wife they
being known to us to be the party Grantors in the within and aforegoing Bill of Sale and did Sign seal and acknowledge
the Same to be their acts and deed and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and we
the Justices aforesaid do further Certify that the aforesaid Jane Hubbard wife of Caleb Hubbard did sign
seal and acknowledge the same out of the hearing and presence of her husband and did declare that she did
sign seal and make her acknowledgment of the Same willingly and freely and of her own accord and without
being induced so to do by fear or threats of ill usage by her Said husband or fear of his displeasure and on
the Same day before us the Justices aforesaid personally appeared Charles Shenton party grantee named in
the within and aforegoing Bill of Sale and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the
Consideration mentioned in the Same is true and Bona fide as therein set forth

Levin Mobray                                   Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Mortgage
Jacob Willey                                     Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 23.d day of January 1854 to wit:
paid   from   xd                                                This Indenture made this twenty third day of January in the year
Charles Austin free Colored man      of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and fifty four, between Charles Austin free
                                                       Colered man of Dorchester County and State of Maryland of the one part and
Levin Mobray and Jacob Willey of the same County and state aforesaid of the other part  Whereas the Said
Charles Austin on the first day of January Eighteen Hundred and fifty four gave his Bill obligatory with
the said Levin Mobray and Jacob Willey as his secureties to John A. Scott for the sum of Five Hundred Dollars
payable on the first day of January Eighteen Hundred and fifty five and whereas the said Charles Austin to save
Harmless and indemnify the said Levin Mobray and Jacob Willey their heirs executors or administrators from any
loss by reason of their security ship as aforesaid as aforesaid hath agreed to Execute these presents.  Now this indenture
witnesseth that the said Charles Austin for and in Consideration of the premises and of the further sum of one
dollar Current money to him in hand paid by the Said Levin Mobray and Jacob Willey before the sealing
and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Charles Austin doth hereby acknowledge the
Said Charles Austin hath given Granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doth give grant grant
