76 Witness John McCready (seal) Nicholas Langfit Be it remembered that on this 23 day of November 1853 before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Dorchester County in the State of Maryland personally appeared John McCready and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be his act and deed and at the same time personally appeared before me George W. McCready the above named grantee and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the Consideration mentioned in the above Indenture or Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Acknowledged & Sworn before me Nicholas Langfit J. P. Henry Cook Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Mortgage Bill of Sale was recorded and Paid from x.d recorded on the 2d day of December Eighteen hundred and fifty three to wit: John A. Corkran Know all men by these presents That I John A Corkran of Dorchester County and state of Maryland, for and in Consideration of the Sum of two hundred and twenty five dollars lawful money of the United States, in hand paid by Henry Cook of the City of Baltimore State aforesaid at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged: Have granted, bargained and Sold, and by these presents Do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Henry Cook his Executors administrators and assigns all my share of the Crop of wheat now seeded on the farm on which I reside, Eighteen Killing hogs, thirty four pigs, two Sows, two Cows and one yearling and all the farming utensils on said farm The farm is known as the Susquehannah farm in Dorchester County and is the property of said Henry Cook To Have and To Hold the said described wheat Hogs Pigs Sows Cows &c &c to the Said Henry Cook his Executors, Administrators and Assigns forever; and I the said John A. Corkran for my self my Heirs, Executors and Administrators, the Said wheat, Hogs, Pigs Sows Cows &c &c unto the Said Henry Cook his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, against me the Said John A. Corkran my Executors and Administrators, and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever, Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents, provided nevertheless, and it is the true intent and meaning of these presents and of the said parties hereto, that in Case I the Said John A. Corkran my Executors or administrators ^shall well & truly pay and satisfy to the said Henry Cook Executors, administrators^ or assigns, the Said Sum of two hundred and twenty five dollars lawful money aforesaid with interest for the Same, on or before the first day of July 1854 then this Bill of Sale and every matter and thing herein expressed shall be null and void, it being the true intent and meaning thereof that the Said Goods Chattels &c &c is Mortgaged by me to the Said Henry Cook to secure to the said Henry Cook his Executors, Administrators or assigns, the payment of the Said Sum of two hundred & twenty five dollars & all the interest that may become due In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and Seal, this thirtieth day of November eighteen hundred and fifty three Signed, Sealed, and delivered John A. Corkran (seal) in the presence of Alexander McCann A. H. Penington City of Baltimore SS: Be it remembered That on this thirtieth day of November 1853, before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace for Said City appears John A. Corkran party grantor and Mortgagor and acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed, according to the true intent and meaning thereof. At the Same time appeared Henry Cook party grantee and Mortgagee therein named and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of almighty God that the Consideration Money therein mentioned is bona fide & true as is therein set forth Acknowledged & Sworn to before me A.
