179 company of Nanticoke River and at the same time and place appeared before me Edward G. Sturgeon James Murray and Henry R. Hazlehurst and made Oath according to law that the consideration set forth in the foregoing mortgage is true and bona fide as therein set forth Acknowledged and Sworn to before Thos. Dorman We Edward G. Sturgeon James Murray and Henry R. Hazlehurst in consideration of the sum of $2461.33 to us in hand paid do hereby assign and transfer unto Hugh Martin and George W. Green of Sussex County, Delaware, their executors administrators and assigns the Note specified in the within Mortgage and secured thereby dated the 25th day of July A. D. 1854 drawn by Hooper C. Hicks President &c for $2366.67 and payable at six months with interest Together with the security given by the within Mortgage for the payment thereof It being understood and agreed that the said Martin and Green shall not proceed to collect said note by foreclosing the said Mortgage until all the remaining notes held by said Murray and Hazlehurst and secured by said Mortgage shall be fully satisfied and paid. Christopher Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the √ from following Mortgage Bill of Sale was received and Jerome Richardson & wife recorded on the 1st day of September 1855 To wit: This Indenture made this 29th day of August 1855 By and between Jerome Richardson and Potia B. Richardson of Dorchester County and State of Maryland of the one part and Robert R. Christopher of the said county and state aforesaid of the other part. Whereas the said Jerome Richardson and Potia B. Richardson owes and Stans Justly indebted to the said Robert R. Christopher in the sum of fifty dollars current money and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents now this Indenture Witnesseth that the Said Jerome Richardson & Potia B. Richardson for and in consideration of the premises and the Sum of five dollars Current money to them in hand paid by the said Robert R. Christopher at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the Said Robert R. Christopher his Executors administrators and assigns one negro girl slave named lovenia aged sixteen years. To Have and To Hold the Said negro girl slave lovenia unto the said Robert R.
