ROCK HALL (Kent County) Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2006-01 A CHARTER AMENDMENT RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND
COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ROCK HALL passed pursuant to the authority of Article
XI-E of the Constitution of Maryland (2003 Replacement Volume and 2005 Supplement)
and Section 13 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (2001 Replacement
Volume and 2005 Supplement), to amend the Charter of the Town of Rock Hall (as
published in Municipal Charters of Maryland. Volume 6: 1990 Replacement Edition),
amending the Charter of the Town for the purposes of providing for the increase in hours
that polls are open on election days from seven hours to ten hours and longer if
necessary; providing for the registration of otherwise qualified unregistered voters on or
before the first Monday in April in every odd-numbered year; providing for a voter
eligibility residency requirement of at least the January 1st before the following election;
providing for a minimum age requirement of 25 years of age at the time of election to be
elected as a Councilperson; providing for the conforming of election law violations to
Title 16 of the Election Law Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland; providing for
the appeal of a decision of the Board of Supervisors of Elections to be made only in the
Circuit Court for Kent County; and providing for the procedures to be followed for the
effectiveness of the Charter amendment adopted by this Resolution.

Rock Hall, Kent County, as found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation
of Municipal Charters (1990 Replacement Edition and 2005 Supplement), repealed and
reenacted, with amendments. Effective Date June 2, 2006]
