Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed House Bill 1133 - Delmarva Advisory Council - Repeal.
This bill repeals the provisions of law establishing Maryland's membership on the
Delmarva Advisory Council. It eliminates the representative of the Delmarva
Advisory Council from the membership of the Executive Board of the Rural Maryland
Council. It also requires the Department of Legislative Services to notify the
appropriate officials in Delaware and Virginia of the dissolution of the Delmarva
Advisory Council.
Senate Bill 777, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 1133.
Sincerely,
Martin O'Malley
Governor
