10-213. LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM. (A) DEFINITIONS. (1) IN THIS SECTION THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED. (2) "PROGRAM" MEANS THE MARYLAND LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM. (3) "RELATED INSTITUTION" HAS THE MEANING STATED IN § 19-301 OF
THE HEALTH - GENERAL ARTICLE. (B) ESTABLISHED. THERE IS A MARYLAND LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM IN THE
DEPARTMENT. (C) LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN. (1) THE SECRETARY SHALL DESIGNATE A MARYLAND LONG-TERM CARE
OMBUDSMAN. (2) THE SECRETARY MAY DELEGATE THE SECRETARYS AUTHORITY
UNDER § 10-212 OF THIS SUBTITLE TO: (I) THE MARYLAND LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN; AND (II) THE DIRECTOR OF AN AREA AGENCY IN ACCORDANCE WITH A
LOCAL LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM ESTABLISHED UNDER
REGULATIONS THAT THE SECRETARY ADOPTS. (D) REGULATIONS. THE SECRETARY SHALL ADOPT REGULATIONS TO GOVERN:
(1) CONFLICTS OF INTEREST WITHIN THE PROGRAM;
