(9) Failure to stop a vehicle for a steady red traffic signal in violation
of § 21-202 of this article OR A NONFUNCTIONING TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL IN
VIOLATION OF § 21-209 OF THIS ARTICLE ...................................................2 points

VEHICULAR TRAFFIC APPROACHING A HIGHWAY FROM AN EXIT RAMP
FROM AN EXPRESSWAY, AS DEFINED IN § 21-101 (K) OF THIS TITLE, AND FACING
A NONFUNCTIONING TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE
EXIT RAMP AND THE HIGHWAY SHALL:
(1) STOP:
(I) AT A CLEARLY MARKED STOP LINE;
(II) IF THERE IS NO CLEARLY MARKED STOP LINE, BEFORE
ENTERING ANY CROSSWALK; OR
(III) IF THERE IS NO CROSSWALK, BEFORE ENTERING THE
HIGHWAY; AND
(2) REMAIN STOPPED UNTIL IT IS SAFE TO CONTINUE ONTO THE
HIGHWAY.
27-101.
(b) Except as otherwise provided in this section, any person convicted of a
misdemeanor for the violation of any of the provisions of the Maryland Vehicle Law is
subject to a fine of not more than $500.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2007.
