BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - State Government
Section 2-1246
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - State Government
2-1246.
(a) IN THIS SECTION, "PUBLICATION" INCLUDES ANY REPORT, STUDY,
OR NOTIFICATION.
(B) [Each official or unit of the State government shall submit to the
Department a list of the reports and other publications] FOR EACH PUBLICATION
that [the] AN official or unit [issues and] OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT intends to
distribute or submit to the General Assembly or to any committee, staff agency, or
employee of the General Assembly, THE OFFICIAL OR UNIT SHALL:
(1) SUBMIT ONE COPY TO THE PRESIDENT AND ONE COPY TO THE
SPEAKER IN THE FORMAT REQUESTED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE SPEAKER;
(2) SUBMIT FIVE PRINTED COPIES TO THE LIBRARY OF THE
DEPARTMENT; AND
(3) IN THE CASE OF A PUBLICATION TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO A
COMMITTEE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY:
(I) UNLESS THE PUBLICATION IS BEING SUBMITTED TO THE
COMMITTEE AS SPECIFICALLY REQUIRED BY LAW, OBTAIN APPROVAL FOR THE
DISTRIBUTION FROM THE COMMITTEE CHAIR; AND
(II) COMPLY WITH THE DISTRIBUTION REQUIREMENTS OF
THE COMMITTEE.
[(b)] (C) An official or unit:
(1) shall submit to the LIBRARY OF THE Department [5 copies of each
report that the official or unit intends to distribute or submit to the General Assembly
or to any committee, staff agency, or employee of the General Assembly], IN
