construct, construct, and equip eligible projects (Statewide).
Notwithstanding Section 1(5) of this Act, the matching fund
may be provided, either directly or indirectly, from State and
local Program Open Space funds of the State, whether
appropriated or unappropriated.
Further provided that
$2,000,000 of this appropriation may only be used to provide
grants for the following projects: (1) Bay Head Park. Provide a grant equal to the lesser of (i)
$250,000 or (ii) the amount of the matching fund provided,
to the County Executive and County Council of Anne
Arundel County for the construction and capital equipping
of Bay Head Park, located in Annapolis (Anne Arundel
County). (2) Athletic Lighting Renovations. Provide a grant equal to the
lesser of (i) $250,000 or (ii) the amount of the matching
fund provided, to the County Executive and County
Council of Baltimore County for the planning, design,
construction, reconstruction, renovation, and capital
equipping of athletic field lighting systems at County
Home Park, General John Strieker Middle School
Recreation Center, and Arbutus Middle School, all located
in Baltimore County, provided that the county government
and the county board of education shall enter into a
Memorandum of Understanding allowing for community
use of school athletic fields (Baltimore County). (3) Blandair Regional Park. Provide a grant equal to the lesser
of (i) $250,000 or (ii) the amount of the matching fund
provided, to the County Executive and County Council of
Howard County for the planning, design, construction, and
capital equipping of a recreational park at Blandair
Regional Park, located in Columbia, subject to a
requirement that the grantee grant and convey a historic
easement to the Maryland Historical Trust (Howard
County). (4) Woodstock Equestrian Park. Provide a grant equal to the
lesser of (i) $250,000 or (ii) the amount of the matching
fund provided, to the Board of Trustees of the Montgomery
County Parks Foundation, Inc. for the planning, design,
construction, and capital equipping of a public equestrian
park, located in Beallsville, subject to a requirement that
the grantee grant and convey a historic easement to the
Maryland Historical Trust (Montgomery County). (5) Other Projects. Provide $1,000,000 in grants for projects
selected by the Senate.
