General Fund Appropriation, provided that
$100,000 of this appropriation may not be
expended until the Department of Public
Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS)
submits a report by July 1, 2007 to the
House Appropriations Committee, the
Health and Government Operations
Committee. Senate Budget and Taxation
Committee, and the Senate Education,
Health, and Environmental Affairs
Committee on the progress that has been
made in Hepatitis C prevention and
treatment within the correctional system.
Specifically, this report shall include their
methodology, the number of inmates that
have been tested, educated, and treated in
the past three years, and their planned
goals and strategies for Hepatitis C Virus
diagnosis, education, and treatment for
the next three years. The budget
committees shall have 45 days to review
