before such official if a protest has been filed against the granting of the new license at
least 30 days before the expiration of the license for which renewal is sought.
2. IN CHARLES COUNTY:
A. A PROTEST SHALL SPECIFY THE BASIS ON WHICH
THE PROTEST IS MADE;
B. THE PROTEST SHALL BE FILED UNDER OATH; AND
C. THE BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS MAY
APPROVE THE RENEWAL OF THE LICENSE WITHOUT A HEARING IF THE BOARD
MAKES A FINDING THAT THE BASIS OF THE PROTEST LACKS SUBSTANCE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2007.

AN ACT concerning
Charles County - Alcoholic Beverages - Drinking on Public Property and in
Other Areas
FOR the purpose of repealing the exemption for Charles County from a certain
prohibition against drinking alcoholic beverages without authorization on public
property and certain other areas; making certain stylistic changes; and
generally relating to drinking alcoholic beverages in Charles County.
