2007 Laws of Maryland
(i) Pays the application fee required under § 2-303 of this subtitle; and (ii) Provides adequate evidence that the applicant: 1. Meets the qualifications otherwise required by this title; [and] 2. Became licensed in the other state after meeting, in
that or any other state, requirements that are at least equivalent to the licensing
requirements of this State; and 3. MEETS THE PRACTICE REQUIREMENTS
ESTABLISHED BY THE REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD. (3) [If licensed in another state that does not have a continuing
education requirement equivalent to that contained in § 2-308(h) of this subtitle, an
applicant shall, within 6 months after being issued a license in this State, complete a
prescribed number of hours of continuing education as determined by the Board, not to
exceed 20 hours, so as to obtain an equivalent number of hours as is required for
in-State applicants] THE BOARD MAY GRANT A WAIVER UNDER THIS SUBSECTION
IF AN APPLICANT HOLDS CURRENT NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION AS A
HEARING INSTRUMENT SPECIALIST AND MEETS THE PRACTICE REQUIREMENTS
ESTABLISHED BY REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD. [(4) Except as provided by this subsection, the Board may not impose
on an individual who applies for a waiver of examination any licensing requirement
that is not required of any other applicant for a license.] 2-306. The Board shall issue a license to any applicant who: (1) Meets the requirements of this title; and (2) Pays the license fee set by the Board. 2-307. A license to practice audiology authorizes the licensee to practice audiology
while the license is effective.
