6-607. PROCEDURES. THE COMMISSION SHALL DETERMINE ANY NECESSARY OPERATING
PROCEDURES, INCLUDING ESTABLISHING SUBCOMMITTEES OR WORK GROUPS
UTILIZING THE EXPERTISE OF PERSONS WHO ARE NOT MEMBERS OF THE
COMMISSION. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 41, § 18-404(c), except as it related to meetings. The reference to "persons who are not members of the Commission" is
substituted for the former reference to "noncommission members" for
clarity. Defined term: "Commission" § 6-601
6-608. STAFF. (A) DIRECTOR; STAFF. (1) SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR, THE COMMISSION
SHALL HIRE A STAFF DIRECTOR AS PROVIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET. (2) SUBJECT TO THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE CHAIR OF THE
COMMISSION, THE STAFF DIRECTOR SHALL HIRE ADDITIONAL STAFF AS PROVIDED
IN THE STATE BUDGET TO PERFORM THE DUTIES THAT THE COMMISSION
CONSIDERS APPROPRIATE. (B) STATUS. THE STAFF IS RESPONSIBLE TO THE SECRETARY SOLELY FOR ROUTINE
ADMINISTRATIVE PURPOSES. (C) ADDITIONAL STAFF. MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION MAY DESIGNATE STAFF FROM THEIR
RESPECTIVE UNITS TO ASSIST THE COMMISSION. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 41, § 18-405. In subsection (c) of this section, the reference to "units" is substituted for
the former reference to "agencies" for consistency. See General Revisor's
Note to article. Also in subsection (c) of this section, the former reference to "constituent"
units is deleted as surplusage. Defined terms: "Commission" § 6-601
