ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL LAW, TO BE FOLLOWED WHEN THE ADMINISTRATION
HAS REASON TO BELIEVE THAT AN OVERPAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 88A, § 16A.
In subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the former references to
"applicable" federal law are deleted as surplusage.
Also in subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the former references to
federal "rules, regulations, or guidelines" are deleted as included in the
references to federal "law".
In subsection (b) of this section, the former reference to "October 1,1977" is
deleted as obsolete.

5-608. FEDERAL FUNDS.
THE ADMINISTRATION MAY:
(1) ACCEPT ANY FEDERAL FUNDS OR COMMODITIES;
(2) MANAGE AND DISPOSE OF ANY FEDERAL FUNDS OR COMMODITIES
AS REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW; AND
(3) APPLY THE FEDERAL SOCIAL SECURITY ACT OR ANY OTHER
FEDERAL LAW RELATING TO PUBLIC ASSISTANCE TO THE BENEFIT OF THE STATE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 88A, § 15, as it related to public assistance.
In items (1) and (2) of this section, the reference to federal funds "or"
commodities is substituted for the former reference to federal funds "and"
commodities to clarify that the Administration may accept federal funds,
or commodities, or both.
In item (2) of this section, the former phrase "in whatever manner" is
deleted as surplusage.
In item (3) of this section, the reference to the authority to "apply" the
federal Social Security Act "to the benefit of the State" is substituted for
the former reference to "tak[ing] advantage" of the federal Social Security
Act for clarity.
Also in item (3) of this section, the reference to the federal Social Security
Act "or" any other federal law is substituted for the former reference to the
federal Social Security Act "and" any other federal act to clarify that the
Administration may apply the federal Social Security Act, another federal
law, or both.
Also in item (3) of this section, the former reference to the Social Security
Act "and any amendments and supplements thereto" is deleted in light of
