2004 LAWS OF MARYLAND

SECTION 11. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Washington County
Commissioners shall present a plan to implement a County land preservation and
landowner equity program to the members of the General Assembly representing
Washington County on or before January 1, 2005. The plan shall establish annual
goals for financial support and acres of land preserved.

SECTION 12. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2004.

AN ACT concerning

Economic Development Financial Assistance - Minority Business Enterprise

Procurement Goals

FOR the purpose of requiring that a recipient of certain financial assistance awarded
under the. Economic Development Opportunities Program Fund and the
Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund to comply
with certain minority business enterprise procurement goals under certain
circumstances; requiring that certain minority business enterprise procurement
goals be included in certain financial assistance agreements; authorizing the
Department of Business and Economic Development to require certain
recipients of financial assistance to submit certain information; requiring the
Department to submit an annual report to a certain committee; defining certain
terms; providing for a delayed effective date; and generally relating to applying
minority business enterprise procurement goals to financial assistance for
economic development awarded under the Economic Development
Opportunities Program Fund and the Maryland Economic Development
Assistance Authority and Fund.
