Ch. 197                                   2004 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(IV) 1. THE STATE'S ATTORNEY SHALL BE CONSIDERED THE
EMPLOYER OF THE EMPLOYEE DESCRIBED IN SUBPARAGRAPH (I) OF THIS
PARAGRAPH FOR PURPOSES OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING FOR OTHER TERMS AND
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.

2. ANY REQUIRED FUNDING FOR A COLLECTIVE
BARGAINING AGREEMENT NEGOTIATED BY THE STATE'S ATTORNEY UNDER THIS
SUBPARAGRAPH SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE.

[(8)] (10) (9) The salary and expenses of the State's Attorney, the deputy
State's Attorneys, and the assistant State's Attorneys shall be paid in equal
semimonthly installments.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2004.

AN ACT concerning

Procurement - Reciprocal Preference for Resident Offerors

FOR the purpose of authorizing a unit of State government to give certain preferences
to competitive sealed proposals from certain offerors under certain
circumstances; providing that, at the request of the unit, nonresident offerors
must give certain information concerning the treatment of nonresident offerors
in certain states; defining certain terms; and generally relating to the granting
of reciprocal preferences for resident offerors in awarding procurement
contracts.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
