SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

5-7B-05.
(c) (1) When a request is made to the Board of Public Works for an exception
under this section, the Board of Public Works may request from the [State Economic
Growth, Resource Protection, and Planning Commission] DEPARTMENT OF
PLANNING an advisory opinion on the request for the exception.
(2) Upon receiving a request for an advisory opinion under this
subsection, the [Commission] DEPARTMENT, if requested by a member of the public,
shall hold a public meeting to gather information relevant to the advisory opinion.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 2004.

AN ACT concerning
Election Law - Miscellaneous Technical and Clarifying Corrections
FOR the purpose of altering provisions of the Election Law to conform to current
practices; altering certain definitions; repealing a duplicative provision for an
appeal of a rejection of an absentee ballot application; repealing a provision
concerning a voter transaction at the Motor Vehicle Administration; repealing
provisions relating to mechanical lever machines; altering language to
accommodate the use of electronic voting systems; altering the term used in a
crime; and generally relating to the election laws.
