(F) (D) THE UNIT OF PROSECUTION FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS SECTION IS
BASED ON THE ARREST OR DETENTION REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF POLICE
OFFICERS INVOLVED IN THE ARREST OR DETENTION.

(G) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, IT IS NOT A

October 1, 2004.

(Senate Bill 365)

AN ACT concerning

Criminal Law - Animal Cruelty - Dogfighting and Cockfighting

FOR the purpose of prohibiting a person from knowingly attending as a spectator a
deliberately conducted event that uses a fowl, cock, or other bird to fight with
another fowl, cock, or other bird; prohibiting a person from possessing, owning,
selling, transporting, or training a dog or a fowl, cock, or other bird with the
intent to use the animal for certain purposes; prohibiting a person from
possessing certain implements or devices relating to a fowl, cock, or other bird
fighting with another fowl, cock, or other bird under certain circumstances;
prohibiting a person from knowingly allowing certain premises to be used to
conduct dogfights or fights between fowl, cocks, or other birds; prohibiting a
person from arranging or conducting a dogfight or a fight in which a fowl, cock,
or other bird fights another fowl, cock, or other bird; defining certain terms;
authorizing a court to order psychological counseling under certain
circumstances; establishing certain penalties; and generally relating to animal
cruelty, dogfighting, and cockfighting.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
