certain findings of the General Assembly; requiring certain reports about the
Program and the Corporation corporation to certain persons on certain dates;
altering the termination date of the Smart Growth Economic Development
Infrastructure Fund; providing for the termination of a portion of this Act;
making the provisions of this Act severable; stating the intent that funding for
the corporation must be provided within existing resources of certain State
agencies and that additional funding may not be provided until certain
conditions are met; and generally relating to investments in rural areas of
Maryland and in agricultural and resource-based industry development.

BY adding to

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative Departments

Section 13-501 through 13 506 13-515, inclusive, to be under the new subtitle

"Subtitle 5. Rural Maryland Prosperity Investment Program"; and 13-601

through 13-616, inclusive, to be under the new subtitle "Subtitle 6.

Maryland Agricultural and Resource-Based Industry Development

Corporation"

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Chapter 304 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1999
Section 3

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

SUBTITLE 5. RURAL MARYLAND PROSPERITY INVESTMENT PROGRAM.
13-501.

(A)      IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

(B)      "AGRICULTURE" MEANS THE COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION, STORAGE,
PROCESSING, MARKETING, DISTRIBUTION, OR EXPORT OF AN AGRONOMIC,
AQUACULTURAL, EQUINE, FLORICULTURAL, HORTICULTURAL, ORNAMENTAL,
SILVICULTURAL, OR VITICULTURAL CROP, INCLUDING
;

(1)      FARM PRODUCTS;

(2)     LIVESTOCK AND LIVESTOCK PRODUCTS;

(3) POULTRY AND POULTRY PRODUCTS;

(4)      MILK AND DAIRY PRODUCTS;
