4. WIDENING OF DOORWAYS;
5. MODIFICATION OF BATHROOM FACILITIES OR KITCHEN
FACILITIES TO MAKE THEM ACCESSIBLE TO A PHYSICALLY IMPAIRED INDIVIDUAL;
6. LOCK, BUZZER OR OTHER DEVICE ON A DOOR TO
PREVENT OR STOP A COGNITIVELY IMPAIRED INDIVIDUAL FROM WANDERING;
7. HOME MODIFICATIONS TO HELP A COGNITIVELY
IMPAIRED INDIVIDUAL IDENTIFY THE PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND FIND THE
BATHROOM; AND
8. SPECIALIZED ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING SYSTEMS TO
ACCOMMODATE THE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES THAT ARE NECESSARY
FOR AN INDIVIDUAL'S WELFARE.
(III) "ENVIRONMENTAL ACCESSIBILITY MODIFICATION" DOES NOT
INCLUDE ADAPTATIONS OR IMPROVEMENTS TO AN INDIVIDUAL'S HOME OR PLACE
OF RESIDENCE, SUCH AS CARPETING, ROOF REPAIR, AND CENTRAL AIR
CONDITIONING, WHICH:
1. ARE OF GENERAL UTILITY;
2. ARE NOT OF DIRECT MEDICAL OR REMEDIAL BENEFIT TO
AN INDIVIDUAL; OR
3. ADD TO THE HOME'S TOTAL SQUARE FOOTAGE.
[(6)] (7) "Health related care and services", for purposes of paragraph
[(8)] (9) of this subsection, includes:
provider;
(i) 24-hour supervision and observation by a licensed care
(ii) Medication administration;
(iii) Inhalation therapy;
(iv) Bladder and catheter management;
(v) Assistance with suctioning; [and] OR
(vi) Assistance with treatment of skin disorders and dressings.
[(7)] (8) "Home health care services" means those services defined in §
19-401 of this article and in 42 C.F.R. 440.70.
[(8)] (9) "Intermediate level of care", for purposes of paragraph
[(10)(ii)] (11)(II) of this subsection, includes health related care and services provided
to individuals who [do]:
(I) DO not require hospital or a skilled level of nursing facility care
but whose mental, physical, functional, or cognitive condition requires health services
that:
