S.B. 221 VETOES
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 221 — Prince George's County - Wine Consumption - Continuing
Care Retirement Communities.
This bill allows, under specified circumstances, residents and their guests in a
continuing care retirement community in Prince George's County that holds a Class C
(on-sale) beer, wine and liquor license, to consume wine not purchased from the
continuing care retirement community.
House Bill 568, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on April
27, 2004, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign
Senate Bill 221.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
Senate Bill No. 221
