AN ACT concerning

State Government - Forms Management - Submission of Annual Report

FOR the purpose of requiring the Records Management Division of the Department of
General Services to submit an annual report to the General Assembly, rather
than the Joint Audit Committee, on the forms management activities of each
Executive Branch department or independent unit during the previous fiscal
year; and generally relating to the submission of the annual report on forms
management.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

10-608.

(a)     On or before July 31 of each year, each department or independent unit
shall submit to the Division an annual report on its activities as to the management
of its forms during the previous fiscal year.

(b)     On or before September 1 of each year, the Division shall submit, subject to
§ 2-1246 of this article, to the [Joint Audit Committee] GENERAL ASSEMBLY an
annual report that consolidates the reports of the departments and independent
units.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2004.
