(1) the Department's outreach efforts to educate the general public
regarding the importance of the additional safety precautions under this Act;
(2) the market availability of personal floatation devices that are
manufactured for the particular needs of infants, toddlers, and young children:
(3) enforcement efforts planned by the Natural Resources Police Force;
and
(4) any other information or recommendations relevant to enhanced
boating safety for infants, toddlers, and young children.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 2 of this Act
shall take effect April 1, 2006.
SECTION 2. 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, except as provided in
Section 4 of this Act, this Act shall take effect October 1, 2004. Section 3 of this Act
shall remain effective for a period of 1 year and 6 months and, at the end of March 31,
2006, with no further action required by the General Assembly, Section 3 of this Act
shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.

AN ACT concerning
Health Insurance - Required Reimbursement - Podiatrists
FOR the purpose of providing that, if a certain health insurance policy or contract
provides for reimbursement for a service that is within the lawful scope of
practice of a licensed podiatrist, the insured or any other person covered by or
entitled to reimbursement under the health insurance policy or contract is
entitled to the same amount of reimbursement for the service regardless of
whether the service is performed by a physician or a licensed podiatrist;
requiring the Maryland Insurance Administration to report to the Governor and
General Assembly on certain effects of this Act by a certain date; providing for
the application of this Act; and generally relating to reimbursement for services
provided by podiatrists under health insurance policies and contracts.
