Ch. 404                                    2004 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(4) [Deputies] DEPUTY SHERIFFS are not entitled to any additional
compensation for rendering services incident to their office. The County Council shall
levy and collect annual taxes on the assessable property in the county in an amount
sufficient to pay the salaries and allowances of the Sheriff and [his] THE SHERIFF'S
deputies.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2004.

AN ACT concerning

Carroll County - Raffles

FOR the purpose of increasing the number of single-drawing raffles that certain
organizations in Carroll County may hold during a year; and generally relating
to raffles in Carroll County.

(a) This subtitle applies only in Carroll County.

13-903.

(a) Before an organization may conduct a gaming event, the organization shall
obtain a permit from the county commissioners.
