2004 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(d) An inmate under a sentence to a term of Division custody that is
concurrent or partially concurrent to a term of Non-Division custody shall be subject
to Division custody immediately on release from Non-Division custody due to the
expiration of a sentence, parole, or the application of diminution credits.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall be
construed to apply only prospectively and may not be applied or interpreted to have
any effect on or application to any crime committed before the effective date of this
Act.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 2004.

(House Bill 18)

AN ACT concerning

Election Law - Polling Places - Access by Minors

FOR the purpose of altering the maximum age at which an individual may
accompany an adult in a voting room and voting booth at a polling place under
certain circumstances; prohibiting more than a certain number of individuals
from accompanying a voter in a voting room or voting booth under certain
circumstances; and making stylistic changes.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Election Law
Section 10-308 and 10-310(c)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(2003 Volume and 2003 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Election Law

10-308.

(A) An election judge shall allow the following individuals to have access to the
voting room at a polling place:

(1)     a voter;

(2)     an individual who accompanies a voter in need of assistance in
accordance with § 10-310(c) of this subtitle;

(3)     polling place staff;
