4.       a hotel, motel, or other lodging facility;

5.       a theater or sports arena;

6.       a school or other educational institution;

7.       a bank or other financial institution;

8.       any part of a day care home used for the care and custody
of a child; or

9.       another place of public use or accommodation.

4-203.

(b) This section does not prohibit:

(1) the wearing, carrying, or transporting of a handgun by a person who
is on active assignment engaged in law enforcement, is authorized at the time and
under the circumstances to wear, carry, or transport the handgun as part of the
person's official equipment, and is:

(vi) a temporary or part-time [sheriffs'] SHERIFF'S deputy;

(b) (1) A person who is convicted under subsection (a) of this section or of
conspiracy to commit a crime included in subsection (a) of this section shall be
sentenced to imprisonment for not less than 10 years and is subject to a fine not
exceeding $100,000 if the person previously has been convicted once:

(i) under subsection (a) of this section or § 5-608 of this subtitle;

(ii) of conspiracy to commit a crime included in subsection (a) of this
section or § 5-608 of this subtitle; [or]

(iii) of a crime under the laws of another state or the United States
that would be a crime included in subsection (a) of this section or § 5-608 of this
subtitle if committed in this State; or

(iv) of any combination of these crimes.
