(B) ELECTION.
THE MANNER OF ELECTION OF A CHAIRPERSON SHALL BE AS THE GAMING
COMMISSION DETERMINES.
REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 27, § 255C(d)(1).
Subsection (b) of this section is standard language added to clarify the
manner of election for the chairperson of the gaming commission.
In subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the references to a "chairperson"
are substituted for the former references to a "chairman" because SG §
2-1238 requires the use of words that are neutral as to gender to the
extent practicable.
In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to "elect[ion]" of a
chairperson is substituted for the former reference to "choose" to clarify the
manner in which the chairperson is selected.

13-2418. SAME — MEETINGS; COMPENSATION; STAFF.
(A) REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES.
A MEMBER OF THE GAMING COMMISSION:
(1) MAY NOT RECEIVE COMPENSATION; BUT
(2) IS ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH A POLICY OF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
(B) STAFF.
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL ASSIGN APPROPRIATE PROFESSIONAL
STAFF TO THE GAMING COMMISSION FOR THE GAMING COMMISSION'S MEETINGS.

13-2419. SAME — MISCELLANEOUS POWERS AND DUTIES.
(A) REGULATIONS.
(1) THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL ADOPT REGULATIONS TO
CARRY OUT PART III OF THIS SUBTITLE.
(2) THE AGENCY MAY RECOMMEND TO THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
REGULATIONS OR GUIDELINES CONCERNING THE ADMINISTRATION OF PART III OF
THIS SUBTITLE.
