REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 255A(a), (b), and the fourth sentence of (c). In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to a "gaming event" is
substituted for the former reference to a "carnival" for clarity and
consistency with subsection (b) of this section. The Criminal Law Article
Review Committee calls this substitution to the attention of the General
Assembly. Also in subsection (a) of this section, the former reference to a "duly"
licensed gaming event is deleted as surplusage. In subsection (b) of this section, the reference to a gaming event "under
Subtitle 2 of this title" is added for clarity. Also in subsection (b) of this section, the reference to the clerk of the
"circuit" court is added for clarity. In subsection (c)(4)(i) of this section, the reference to "intending]" to raise
money is substituted for the former reference to "desiring" to raise money
for consistency within this title. Also in subsection (c)(4)(i) of this section, the former reference to a purpose
that is "specifically" described in an application is deleted as surplusage. In subsection (d)(2) of this section, the reference to a "gaming" professional
is added for clarity. In subsection (d)(3) of this section, the former reference to a "commission,
salary ... or recompense" is deleted in light of the comprehensive reference
to a "compensation or reward". Also in subsection (d)(3) of this section, the former reference to
"operat[ing]" bingo is deleted as included in the reference to "conducting"
bingo. Defined terms: "Gaming event" § 13-1201
"Person" § 1-101 13-1204. PROHIBITIONS. (A) SUNDAY GAMING. A LICENSE ISSUED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE MAY NOT AUTHORIZE A GAME OR
CARNIVAL ON A SUNDAY. (B) MINORS. AN INDIVIDUAL UNDER THE AGE OF 16 YEARS MAY NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY,
CONDUCT, OR OPERATE BINGO. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 255A(d) and the third sentence of (c).
