Ch. 26
2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
of the General Assembly, that in subsection (a) of this section, the reference
to removal of "the animal or any other animal" is substituted for the former
reference to removal of "that animal or animals" for clarity and accuracy. In subsections (c)(1) and (f)(2) of this section, the references to a
"veterinarian licensed in the State" are substituted for the former
references to a "licensed veterinarian of the State" for clarity. The Criminal Law Article Review Committee notes, for the consideration
of the General Assembly, that in subsection (c)(1) of this section, the former
reference to an animal "continuing]" without necessary food, water, or
proper attention is deleted as implicit in the reference to "confine[ment]" of
the animal. In subsection (d) of this section, the former phrase "[i]n all cases" is deleted
as redundant. In subsection (e) of this section, the reference to being "considered a stray"
is substituted for the former phrase "held to be an estray" for clarity. In subsection (f)(2) of this section, the reference to "removal" is substituted
for the former reference to "taking" for clarity. In subsection (g) of this section, the reference to the Baltimore County
"Department of Health, Division of Animal Control" is substituted for the
former obsolete reference to the "Bureau of Animal Control" for accuracy. For other provisions on stray animals, see Title 3, Subtitle 6 of the
Agriculture Article. Defined terms: "Animal" § 10-601
"County" § 1-101
"Cruelty" § 10-601
"Humane society" § 10-601
"Person" § 1-101 10-616. KENNEL INSPECTION. (A) SCOPE OF SECTION. THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO PREMISES: (1) WHERE DOGS ARE KEPT OR BRED SOLELY FOR MEDICAL OR
RELATED RESEARCH OR LABORATORY TESTS; (2) OPERATED BY A LICENSED AND REGULARLY PRACTICING
VETERINARIAN; OR (3) WHERE HUNTING DOGS ARE HOUSED, IF THE BUYING, SELLING,
