Underground.
This bill creates a 22-member Task Force to Study Moving Overhead Utility Lines
Underground. The bill is effective January 1, 2003 and remains effective until
December 31, 2003.
Senate Bill 653, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 1089.

AN ACT concerning
Task Force to Study Moving Overhead Utility Lines Underground
FOR the purpose of establishing a Task Force to Study Moving Overhead Utility
Lines Underground; providing for the composition, duties, and staff of the Task
Force; requiring the Task Force to report to the Governor and the General
Assembly by a certain date; providing for a delayed effective date; providing for
the termination of this Act; and generally relating to the Task Force to Study
Moving Overhead Utility Lines Underground.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:
(a) There is a Task Force to Study Moving Overhead Utility Lines
Underground. The Task Force shall be composed of:
(1) one member of the House of Delegates, appointed by the Speaker of
the House;
(2) one member of the Senate of Maryland, appointed by the President of
the Senate;
(3) the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation, or the
Secretary's designee;
(4) the Chairman of the Public Service Commission, or the Chairman's
designee;
(5) the Director of the Maryland Energy Administration, or the
Director's designee;

(6) the Special Secretary of the Office of Smart Growth, or the Special
Secretary's designee; and
|
