REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 389(a), (b), and (d). In subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the word "good" is substituted for
the former phrase "article or product", for brevity. In subsection (c) of this section, the reference to "each violation" is
substituted for the former reference to "each and every offense" for
consistency within this article. See General Revisor's Note to article. Defined term: "Person" § 1-101
6-307. SAME — POSSESSION AND USE. (A) PROHIBITED.
A PERSON MAY NOT: (1) SELL OR POSSESS A STOLEN: (I) MANUFACTURED SERIAL NUMBER; OR (II) VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION PLATE OR LABEL; OR (2) POSSESS A MANUFACTURED SERIAL NUMBER OR VEHICLE
IDENTIFICATION PLATE OR LABEL IF THE PERSON INTENDS IT TO BE: (I) AFFIXED TO STOLEN PROPERTY; OR (II) USED FOR FRAUDULENT PURPOSES. (B) PENALTY. A PERSON WHO VIOLATES A PROVISION OF THIS SECTION IS GUILTY OF A
MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO IMPRISONMENT NOT
EXCEEDING 18 MONTHS OR A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $500 OR BOTH FOR EACH
VIOLATION. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 389(c) and (d). In subsection (b) of this section, the reference to "each violation" is
substituted for the former reference to "each and every offense" for
