6-107. THREAT OF ARSON.
(A) PROHIBITED.
A PERSON MAY NOT THREATEN VERBALLY OR IN WRITING TO:
(1) SET FIRE TO OR BURN A STRUCTURE; OR
(2) EXPLODE A DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE, AS DEFINED IN § 4-501 OF THIS
ARTICLE, IN, ON, OR UNDER A STRUCTURE.
(B) PENALTY.
A PERSON WHO VIOLATES THIS SECTION IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND
ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING 10 YEARS OR A
FINE NOT EXCEEDING $10,000 OR BOTH.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 9.

6-108. BURNING TRASH CONTAINER
(A) PROHIBITED.
A PERSON MAY NOT WILLFULLY AND MALICIOUSLY SET FIRE TO OR BURN THE
CONTENTS OF A DUMPSTER OR TRASH RECEPTACLE THAT BELONGS TO ANOTHER
(B) PENALTY.
A PERSON WHO VIOLATES THIS SECTION IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND
ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING 30 DAYS OR A FINE
NOT EXCEEDING $500 OR BOTH.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly was Art. 27, § 9A.
In subsection (a) of this section, the former reference to a "trash container"
is deleted as included in the reference to a "trash receptacle".
