(2) for a second or subsequent offense, a fine not exceeding $2,500 or
imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both.
(b) An officer shall arrest with or without a warrant and take into custody a
person [whom] WHO the officer has probable cause to believe is in violation of an [ex
parte order] INTERIM, TEMPORARY, or FINAL protective order in effect at the time of
the violation.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is contingent on
the passage of Chapter_(S.B./H.B. _) (21r0989/0988) of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 2002, a Constitutional Amendment, and its ratification by the voters of
the State.
SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to the
provisions of Section 4 of this Act, this Act shall take effect on the date of certification
of the election results or the question of ratification of the Constitutional Amendment
by the voters of the State.

Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 503 - Harford County - Havre de Grace Maritime Museum Loan of
2001.
This bill authorizes the matching fund provided by the Board of Directors of Havre de
Grace Maritime Museum, Incorporated, as grantee, to include funds expended prior
to June 1, 2001.
House Bill 737, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 503.
