Ch. 573 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND

|
|
ownership structures and potential public/private financing sources for the
construction, ownership, and operation of the prototype Maglev system; now,
therefore,
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:
(a) There is a Task Force to Evaluate the Development and Construction of a
Magnetic Levitation Transportation System (Maglev) in Maryland between Baltimore
and the District of Columbia.
(b) The Task Force shall consist of the following members:
(1) 2 three members of the Senate of Maryland, who represent legislative
districts containing the residential communities that will be the most significantly
impacted by the Maglev, appointed by the President of the Senate;
(2) 2 5 three members of the Maryland House of Delegates who represent
legislative districts containing the residential communities that will be the most
significantly impacted by the Maglev, appointed by the Speaker of the House; as
follows:
(i) one member from Anne Arundel County;
(ii) one member from Baltimore County;
(iii) one member from Howard County,
(iv) one member from Montgomery County; and
(v) one member from Prince George's County;
(3) the Secretary of Transportation, or the Secretary's designee;
(4) the Secretary of Business and Economic Development, or the
Secretary's designee;
(5) the Secretary of Budget and Management, or the Secretary's
designee;
(6) the Secretary of the Department of Planning, or the Secretary's
designee;
(7) one member of local government, appointed by the Mayor of Baltimore
City;
(8) five members of local government, appointed by the county executive
in each of the following counties as follows;
(i) one member from Anne Arundel County;
(ii) one member from Baltimore County;
