Ch. 542 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
Article 83B, § 5-801 of the Code in effect on May 31. 2002 shall apply to the certified
heritage structure rehabilitation credit for the substantial rehabilitation project. Approved May 16, 2002.
CHAPTER 542
(House Bill 774) AN ACT concerning Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - Park Police - Expansion PG/MC 109-02 FOR the purpose of creating a certain exception to the prohibition against construing
a certain provision of State law to allow the expansion of park police forces of the
Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission beyond a certain
limit; making the exception apply to a local law enacted in mutual aid
agreement approved by Prince George's County or in by Montgomery County;
clarifying that this Act applies to the expansion of Commission police forces in
Prince George's County, Montgomery County, or both counties; and generally
relating to the park police forces of the Maryland-National Capital Park and
Planning Commission. BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments, Article 28 - Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission
Section 5-114 Annotated Code of Maryland (1997 Replacement Volume and 2001 Supplement) BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Chapter 569 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1992
Section 2 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article 28 - Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission 5-114. (a) The Commission may appoint whatever park police officers as may be
necessary to provide protection for the Commission's activities and property. In
connection with the responsibility to provide that protection, it is the responsibility of
the park police to prevent crime, apprehend criminals, enforce the criminal and motor
vehicle laws of the State, enforce park regulations and perform whatever other
related duties as are imposed by the Commission. They have concurrent general
