Ch. 534 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
termination provision takes effect, Section 2 of this Act shall be abrogated and of no
further force and effect. This Act may not be interpreted to have any effect on that
termination provision. SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, except as provided in
Section 4 of this Act, this Act shall take effect July 1, 2002, and shall be applicable to
all taxable years beginning after December 31, 2001, but before January 1, 2007
2006; provided, however, that the tax credit under § 2-404 § 11-704 of the
Correctional Services Labor and Employment Article, as enacted under Section 1 of
this Act, shall be allowed for employees hired on or after July 1, 2002 but before
December 31, 2005 2004; and provided further that any excess credits under § 2-404
§ 11-704 of the Correctional Services Labor and Employment Article may be carried
forward and, subject to the limitations under § 2-404 § 11-704, may be applied as a
credit for taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2007 2006. This Act shall
remain in effect for a period of 2 years 6 months and at the end of December 31, 2004,
with no further action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall be abrogated
and of no further force and effect. Approved May 16, 2002.

(House Bill 659) AN ACT concerning Environment - Water Security and Sewerage Systems Advisory Council -
Committee on Wastewater Treatment Systems FOR the purpose of establishing an Advisory Council on Water Security and Sewerage
Systems and an Interagency Technical Assistance Committee on Wastewater
Treatment Systems
in the State; specifying the membership and duties of the
Advisory Council and of the Committee; providing for the appointment of the
chairman of the Advisory Council and of the Committee; providing for Advisory
Council and Committee staff; prohibiting a member of the Advisory Council or
the Committee
from receiving compensation for serving on the Advisory Council
or the Committee; authorizing a member of the Advisory Council and of the
Committee
to receive reimbursement for specified expenses; providing for the
termination of certain provisions of this Act; requiring a certain report; and
generally relating to the Advisory Council on Water Security and Sewerage
Systems and the Interagency Technical Assistance Committee on Wastewater
Treatment Systems
in the State. Preamble WHEREAS, The Governor's Task Force on Upgrading Sewerage Systems
delivered its report in December 2001; and
