(House Bill 529)
AN ACT concerning
Baltimore City - School Police Force - Weapons
FOR the purpose of altering the time of day that a Baltimore City school police officer
whose permanent or temporary assignment is at a school or on school property
is prohibited from carrying certain weapons allowing certain Baltimore City
school police officers to carry firearms during certain times; requiring the New
Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners to establish certain policies
relating to carrying firearms by certain Baltimore City school police officers;
eliminating a prohibition on certain Baltimore City school police officers
carrying certain weapons during certain times; and generally relating to the
Baltimore City school police force.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Education
4-318.
(d) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (3) of this subsection, a Baltimore
City school police officer has all the powers of a law enforcement officer in the State.
(2) (i) A Baltimore City school police officer may act in an official
capacity only on the premises of schools and any other property used for educational
purposes owned, leased, or operated by, or under the control of the New Baltimore
City Board of School Commissioners.
(ii) A Baltimore City school police officer may not act in an official
capacity on any other property unless:
