Ch. 26 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
PROVIDER IS REGISTERED UNDER FEDERAL LAW TO CONDUCT RESEARCH WITH A
CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE LISTED IN SCHEDULE I AND GIVES
EVIDENCE OF THE REGISTRATION TO THE DEPARTMENT. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 281(h). In this section, the defined term "authorized provider" is substituted for
the former reference to "practitioner", to conform to the terminology of this
title. In subsection (b)(2) of this section, the reference to an "authorized
provider" who is already registered under this subtitle in another capacity
is substituted for the former reference to "registrant", to conform to the
reference to the terminology used in subsection (b)(1) of this section. Also in subsection (b)(2) of this section, the reference to an authorized
provider already registered under this "subtitle" is substituted for the
former reference to registration under this "section" to reflect the
reorganization of material derived from former Art. 27, § 281 concerning
controlled dangerous substance registration in this subtitle. Defined terms: "Authorized provider" § 5-101

DEPARTMENT MAY INSPECT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A REGISTRANT OR APPLICANT
FOR REGISTRATION. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 281(e). The former reference to "rules" is deleted as unnecessary in light of the
reference to "regulations". See General Revisor's Note to article. Defined terms: "Department" § 5-101
"Registrant" § 5-101 5-306. REQUIRED RECORD KEEPING. (A) SCOPE OF SECTION. THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO AN AUTHORIZED PROVIDER WHO
LAWFULLY PRESCRIBES OR ADMINISTERS, BUT DOES NOT OTHERWISE DISPENSE, A
CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE LISTED IN SCHEDULE II, SCHEDULE III,
SCHEDULE TV, OR SCHEDULE V.
