Ch. 475 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
(F) "Provide docking services" means: (1) to maneuver a vessel during berthing or unberthing operations with
tug assistance; or (2) to shift a vessel within a port, with tug assistance. 5.5-202. (a) (1) The Board consists of [5] 7 members. (2) Of the [5] 7 members of the Board: (i) 1 SHALL BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE ASSOCIATION;
(II) 2 shall be licensed docking masters; [(ii)] (III) 1 shall be a representative of a towing boat company
serving the Port of Baltimore; [and]
(IV) 1 SHALL BE A MEMBER OF THE STEAMSHIP INDUSTRY SERVING
THE PORT OF BALTIMORE ACTIVELY EMPLOYING DOCKING MASTERS; AND
[(iii)] (V) 2 shall be consumer members. (3) The Governor shall appoint each member UNDER PARAGRAPH (2)(II),
(III), (IV), AND (V) with the advice of the Secretary and th
e advice and consent of the
Senate.
5.5-206. The Board shall receive all fees and other charges collectible under [§§ 5.5-304
and 5.5-305] §§ 5.5-406 AND 5.5-407 of this title. SUBTITLE 3. TRAINEE DOCKING MASTERS. 5.5-301. AN INDIVIDUAL SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE BOARD BEFORE THE INDIVIDUAL
MAY SERVE AS A TRAINEE DOCKING MASTER 5.5-302. THE BOARD SHALL KEEP A LIST OF ALL APPLICANTS WHO QUALIFY TO BE
TRAINEE DOCKING MASTERS. 5.5-303. TO BE INCLUDED ON THE LIST OF APPLICANTS WHO QUALIFY TO BE TRAINEE
DOCKING MASTERS, AN APPLICANT SHALL: (1) BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD; (2) BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES;
