In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to the "right" of a county,
municipal corporation, or special taxing district to regulate is substituted
for the former reference to the "rights" of a county, municipal corporation,
or special taxing district to regulate in light of Art. 1, § 8, which provides
that the singular includes the plural. Also in subsection (a) of this section, the former reference to the authority
to regulate "whether by law, ordinance, or regulation" is deleted as
implicit. Also in subsection (a) of this section, the former references to a handgun
"as defined in § 36F(b) of this article", a rifle "as defined in § 36F(d) of this
article", and a shotgun "as defined in § 36F(g) of this article" are deleted as
redundant of the subtitle-wide definitions of the same terms in § 4-201 of
this subtitle. In subsection (b)(1)(iii) of this section, the former phrase "[w]ith respect to
these activities" is deleted as surplusage. In subsection (c) of this section, as to the deletion of the former reference to
"regulations", see General Revisor's Note to article. In subsection (d)(1) of this section, the former reference to a county,
municipal corporation, or special taxing district "continu[ing]" to regulate
is deleted as surplusage. Defined terms: "County" § 1-101
