NB00.04 General Administration - State
It is the intent of the General Assembly that
the Department of Human Resources fully
implement its federal managed care
waiver by immediately expanding its
foster care privatization project to serve an
additional 500 children. The General
Assembly regrets that the Department of
Human Resources did not complete this
task by October 1, 2001 as directed by
language in the fiscal 2002 budget bill.
The General Assembly is concerned about
the length of time it takes to adjudicate
child welfare cases in Baltimore City. To
address this issue, the General Assembly
requests that the Judiciary increase the
number of judges assigned to child welfare
cases in Baltimore City.
