greater than $300,000 on the program's
budget, whether or not the increase or
decrease is offset in whole or in part by
other action, it shall inform the budget
committees of the change and the
committees shall have 45 days to review
and consider it before it becomes effective.
Funds are appropriated in other agency
budgets to pay for services provided by
this program. Authorization is hereby
granted to use these receipts as special
funds for operating expenses in this
program.

MQ01.04 Office of Health Services
Provided that one regular position is deleted
from this budget-
Further provided that the Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH)
shall conduct a study to determine if
individuals currently enrolled in Medicaid
are eligible for but not enrolled in the
federally funded Medicare program.
DHMH shall take steps to assist all
Medicare-eligible Medicaid beneficiaries
in pursuing Medicare coverage. DHMH
shall report to the budget committees by
December 1, 2002 on the number of
individuals dually eligible for Medicaid
and Medicare who are not currently
enrolled in Medicare and the potential
savings to the State that would result
from full enrollment of all
Medicare-eligible Medicaid beneficiaries
in Medicare.
