Ch. 433 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
certain provisions regarding land use in the critical area and certain tributaries
of the Atlantic Coastal Bays; providing for the construction of this Act; providing
for the termination of certain provisions of this Act; altering certain definitions;
prohibiting certain applications of this Act; providing for a certain calculation of
a certain growth allocation in a certain area; providing for certain development
conditions for certain planned unit developments under a certain circumstance;
and generally relating to establishment and enforcement of a comprehensive
State and local resource management program for certain land areas critical to
the quality and productivity of the tidal waters of the Atlantic Coastal Bays and
its tributaries. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

(1996 Replacement Volume and 2001 Supplement) SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article - Natural Resources 8-1801. (a) The General Assembly finds and declares that: (1) The Chesapeake [Bay and its] AND THE ATLANTIC COASTAL BAYS
AND THEIR tributaries are natural resources of great significance to the State and the
nation; (2) The shoreline and adjacent lands constitute a valuable, fragile, and
sensitive part of this estuarine system, where human activity can have a particularly
immediate and adverse impact on water quality and natural habitats;
