licensee and the location of the licensee's place of business. One such license shall be
required for each place of business where regulated firearms are sold. (b) (1) The license required by subsection (a) above shall expire on the 30th
day of June of each year. (2) The initial fee for the license shall be $50, and the annual renewal
shall be $25, payable to the Comptroller of the State of Maryland. (3) The license shall not be transferable nor shall any refund or
proration of the annual fee therefor be allowed. Provided, however, that before any
licensee changes his or her place of business, the licensee shall so inform the
Secretary and surrender his or her license, whereupon the Secretary shall, if no cause
exists for the revocation of the license, issue a new license, without fee, covering the
new place of business for the duration of the unexpired term of the surrendered
license. [(4) As part of the application for a license, the applicant shall submit to
the Department of State Police: (i) A complete set of the applicant's legible fingerprints taken on
standard fingerprint cards; and (ii) Payment for the cost of the fingerprint card record checks.] (C) (1) IN THIS SUBSECTION, "CENTRAL REPOSITORY" MEANS THE
CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM CENTRAL REPOSITORY OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND CORRECTIONAL SERVICES. (2) THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE SHALL APPLY TO THE CENTRAL
REPOSITORY FOR A STATE AND NATIONAL CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORDS CHECK FOR
EACH APPLICANT. (3) AS PART OF THE APPLICATION FOR A CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORDS
CHECK, THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE SHALL SUBMIT TO THE CENTRAL
REPOSITORY: (I) TWO COMPLETE SETS OF THE APPLICANT'S LEGIBLE
FINGERPRINTS TAKEN ON FORMS APPROVED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRAL
REPOSITORY AND THE DIRECTOR OF THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION; (II) THE FEE AUTHORIZED UNDER § 10-221(B)(7) OF THE CRIMINAL
PROCEDURE ARTICLE FOR ACCESS TO MARYLAND CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORDS; AND (III) THE MANDATORY PROCESSING FEE REQUIRED BY THE
FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION FOR A NATIONAL CRIMINAL HISTORY
RECORDS CHECK. (4) IN ACCORDANCE WITH §§ 10-201 THROUGH 10-234 OF THE CRIMINAL
PROCEDURE ARTICLE, THE CENTRAL REPOSITORY SHALL FORWARD TO THE
APPLICANT AND THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE A PRINTED STATEMENT OF
THE APPLICANT'S CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD INFORMATION.
