PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor Ch. 327
(2) To elect to be a member of the Law Enforcement Officers' Pension
System, an individual shall file a written application with the State Retirement
Agency. (3) If an individual does not elect membership during the applicable
period specified under paragraph (1) of this subsection, the individual may not
become a member of the Law Enforcement Officers' Pension System. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2002. Approved May 6, 2002.
CHAPTER 327
(Senate Bill 575) AN ACT concerning State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
Health Occupations - Graduate Licenses FOR the purpose of authorizing the State Board of Professional Counselors and
Therapists to adopt regulations to allow individuals to practice under
supervision as licensed graduate alcohol and drug counselors, licensed graduate
marriage and family therapists, or as licensed graduate professional counselors;
providing certain qualifications for practice under supervision; authorizing the
use of certain titles and certain representations; prohibiting the use of those
titles and representations by individuals not licensed; providing certain
penalties for certain violations; requiring certain applicants for a provisional
graduate social worker license to meet certain qualifications; providing for the
period of time during which a certain license is valid; authorizing certain
provisional licensees to apply for a graduate social worker license upon the
accreditation of the provisional licensee's degree program;
defining certain
terms; and generally relating to licensed graduate alcohol and drug counselors,
licensed graduate licenses and health occupations, marriage and family
therapists, and licensed graduate profe
ssional counselors. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
