2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
1. CONSENTS TO FORWARDING THE INFORMATION IN
SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION TO THE SELECTIVE SERVICE ADMINISTRATION; OR 2. REFUSES TO CONSENT TO THE FORWARDING OF THE
INFORMATION IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION TO THE SELECTIVE SERVICE
ADMINISTRATION;
AND (II) PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A MALE APPLICANT TO
REFUSE TO CONSENT TO THE FORWARDING OF THE INFORMATION
IN SUBSECTION
(D) OF THI
S SECTION TO THE SELECTIVE SERVICE ADMINISTRATION. (D) REFUSAL TO CONSENT TO THE FORWARDING OF THE INFORMATION IN
SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION TO THE SELECTIVE SERVICE ADMINISTRATION
MAY NOT BE GROUNDS FOR DENIAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR A DRIVER'S LICENSE OR
IDENTIFICATION CARD OR RENEWAL OF A DRIVER'S LICENSE OR IDENTIFICATION
CARD.
(D) REFUSAL TO CONSENT TO THE FORWARDING OF THE INFORMATION IN
SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION TO THE SELECTIVE SERVICE ADMINISTRATION
MAY NOT BE GROUNDS FOR DENIAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR A DRIVER'S LICENSE
OR IDENTIFICATION CARD OR RENEWAL OF A DRIVER'S LICENSE OR
IDENTIFICATION CARD.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 1 of this Act is
contingent on the receipt by the Motor Vehicle Administration of sufficient federal
funds to pay the Administration's initial start-up costs for computer programming
changes necessary to implement the requirements of Section 1 of this Act related to the
reporting of information to the Selective Service Administration.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Motor Vehicle
Administrator shall initiate and monitor efforts to obtain federal funds for the
purposes stated in Section 2 of this Act and shall report promptly to the Department of
Legislative Services when federal funds have been received by the Administration and
the contingency specified in Section 2 of this Act has been fulfilled.
SECTION 2. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to Section 2
of this Act,
this Act shall take effect October 1, 2002. Approved May 6, 2002.
