REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 33, § 13-602. In subsection (a)(1), (2), and (3) of this section, the references to any "other"
valuable thing are added for clarity and completeness in light of the
references to "money, gift, advantage, preferment, aid, emolument" which
also are valuable things. In subsection (a)(1)(i), (2), and (3) of this section, the references to "an
individual", question, or measure are substituted for the former reference
to "a person", question, or measure for clarity. In subsection (a)(1)(i) and (2) of this section, the reference to a "question" is
substituted for the former reference to a "proposition" for consistency with
the terminology used elsewhere in this article. See, e.g., Title 7 of this
article. Similarly, in subsection (a)(3) of this section, the reference to a
"question" is added for consistency with the terminology in subsection
(a)(1)(i) and (2) of this section and elsewhere in this article. In subsection (a)(1) of this section, the reference to inducing or procuring
"that" person to vote or refrain from voting is substituted for the former
reference to inducing or procuring "any" person for clarity and to avoid
ambiguity. Also in subsection (a)(1) of this section, the former reference to "by himself
or by another" is deleted as included in the reference to "directly or
indirectly"; In subsection (a)(2) of this section, the former reference to a "candidate,
committee, association, organization or corporation" is deleted as included
in the reference to a "person". Also in subsection (a)(2) of this section, the reference to a "third" person is
substituted for the former reference to "any" person for clarity and to avoid
ambiguity. In subsection (a)(4)(i) of this section, the former phrase "towards
defraying" is deleted as included in the reference to "defray". Also in subsection (a)(4)(i) of this section, the phrase referencing the
defraying of the costs of "a campaign finance entity" is substituted for the
former reference to defraying the costs or expenses of "any campaign or
election" for clarity. Also in subsection (a)(4)(i) of this section, the reference to a "campaign
finance entity" is substituted for the former reference to "any person,
committee, company, organization or association, other than to a treasurer
or subtreasurer" for clarity and consistency with the terminology used in
this title. See General Revisor's Note to this title and § 1-101 of this
article. In subsection (a)(4)(ii)1 of this section, the former reference to money
