(C) ANY ASSESSMENTS COLLECTED SHALL BE PAID INTO THE MARYLAND
HORSE INDUSTRY FUND AS PROVIDED IN § 2-708.2 OF THIS ARTICLE.
(D) THE SECRETARY SHALL ESTABLISH PROCEDURES ADOPT REGULATIONS
TO:
(1) ALLOW A PERSON WHO PURCHASES COMMERCIAL EQUINE FEED IN
THE STATE TO REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT OF ANY ASSESSMENT THAT WAS PAID ON
THE FEED; AND
(2) REQUIRE THAT A PURCHASER OF FEED BE NOTIFIED, AT THE POINT
OF SALE, OF THE POSSIBILITY OF REIMBURSEMENT.
(E) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF THIS SUBTITLE, ANY
FUNDS COLLECTED UNDER THIS SECTION MAY BE USED ONLY FOR EDUCATION,
RESEARCH. AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS AND ACTIVITIES INTENDED TO BENEFIT
THE MARYLAND EQUINE INDUSTRY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2002. It shall remain effective for a period of 5 years and, at the end of June
30, 2007, with no further action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall be
abrogated and of no further force and effect.

AN ACT concerning
Natural Resources—Oysters Oyster Sanctuaries and Reserves - Penalties for
Taking Oysters
FOR the purpose of establishing certain penalties to be imposed on a person who
intentionally and unlawfully takes oysters from an oyster sanctuary, oyster
reserve, or private-leased bottom under certain circumstances certain oyster
sanctuaries or certain oyster reserves under certain circumstances; and
generally relating to certain penalties for the intentional and unlawful taking of
oysters from certain sanctuaries and reserves.
