necessity of further action by the General Assembly.
SECTION 4. 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, except as provided in
Section 3 8 of this Act, this Act shall take effect October 1, 2002.

AN ACT concerning
Dorchester County - County Commissioners - Salaries and Compensation
FOR the purpose of increasing the salaries of the County Commissioners of
Dorchester County; establishing a salary for the President of the County
Commissioners of Dorchester County; authorizing County Commissioners and
President of the County Commissioners to receive certain additional
compensation; providing that this Act does not apply to the salary or
compensation of the incumbent County Commissioners and President of the
County Commissioners of Dorchester County; and generally relating to the
salaries and compensation of the County Commissioners and President of the
County Commissioners of Dorchester County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 10 - Dorchester County
10-2.
A. [The] EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, THE
annual salary of each County Commissioner shall be [twelve thousand dollars
($12,000.)] FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($14,000). A County Commissioner may
[not] receive [any] other compensation, [except] INCLUDING COMPENSATION for
expenses actually incurred in the performance of the duties of office. Payment of these
expenses shall be by voucher submitted by each County Commissioner.
B. THE ANNUAL SALARY OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS SHALL BE FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000). THE PRESIDENT
OF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY RECEIVE OTHER COMPENSATION,
