Ch. 19 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
Department with respect to them are governed by the provisions of this subtitle
relating to revenue bonds, insofar as those provisions may be applicable, except that
the issuance of such refunding bonds and the obligations with respect to them are not
subject to the [provision] PROVISIONS of § 3-516 of this subtitle. DRAFTER'S NOTE: Error: Incorrect word usage in § 3-519(b) of the Transportation Article. Occurred: Ch. 539, Acts of 1993. 8-627. (a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated. (2) "Defense-related activity" means: (i) The preparation of the United States or a state for defense or war; or (ii) The prosecution of war by the United States or a country with
which the United States maintains friendly relations. (3) "Highway authority" means a governing body or individual with the
authority under law to restrict or close a highway to the public. (4) "Political subdivision" means a county, municipal corporation, special
taxing district, or public corporation of the State. (5) "Public utility" includes a pipeline, gas, electric, heat, water, oil,
sewer, communication, radio, transportation, railroad, airplane, or other system
owned or operated for public use. DRAFTER'S NOTE: Error: Stylistic errors in § 8-627(a) of the Transportation Article. Occurred: Ch. 166, Acts of 2001. Correction by the publisher of the
Annotated Code in the 2001 Replacement Volume of the Transportation
Article is validated by this Act. 13-616. (b) (1) The owner of any vehicle described in paragraph (3) of this subsection
may apply to the Administration for the assignment to that vehicle of a special
disability registration number and special disability registration plates, if a licensed
physician, licensed chiropractor, licensed optometrist, or licensed podiatrist certifies,
in accordance with paragraph (2) of this subsection, that the applicant, a dependent of
the applicant, or any individual who depends on the applicant for transportation: (i) Has lung disease to such an extent that forced (respiratory)
expiratory volume for one second when measured by spirometry is less than one liter,
or arterial oxygen tension [(P02)] (PO2) is less than 60 mm/hg on room air at rest;
